Carbon County commissioners reminded people to check out Mauch Chunk Lake Park, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

On Saturday, the park will be hosting its first Movie Night on the Beach, featuring the animated film “Migration.” The movie starts at dusk, and people should bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Admission is free.

“Please go out and enjoy those movies in the park, and everything it has to offer,” Commissioner Chairman Michael Sofranko said.

He also credited the staff for the great work they do, and invited people to go out say hello.

“Say ‘hi’ to the staff and enjoy the park,” Sofranko said. “County residents should enjoy all the outdoor activities we have to offer there.”
