Tamaqua announces registration dates for drug testing program

The Tamaqua Area School District will have registration for drug testing on Wednesday, July 10 from 8-10 a.m. and Wednesday, July 17 from 8-10 a.m. Registration will take place in the Athletic Center.

As per school district policy, any student in grades 7-12 who intends to participate in any athletic activity, non-athletic club or organization and any student who applies to park on school property will be subject to an initial random drug test. Additionally, any non-participant, whose parent requests voluntary testing, will be eligible to participate in the random testing program.

Testing will occur randomly on the testing dates. Students need to provide a signed parent consent form before participating on one of those dates. That form can be found on the school district website at https://www.tamaqua.k12.pa.us/Page/106

Any student who cannot attend either of the dates provided should contact Tamaqua Athletic Director Mike Hromyak at mhromyak@tamaquasd.org for other arrangements. Becoming part of the random selection process is necessary before participating in any activities.
