State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 29-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 2:15 a.m. June 22. He was stopped in a 2009 Honda Accord for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Fireline Road in Palmerton.

• A 31-year-old Walnutport woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 3:08 a.m. June 20. She was stopped in a 2019 Jeep Cherokee for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Lehigh Drive in East Penn Township.

• The driver of a vehicle police stopped at 7:51 p.m. June 21 on Koch Road in Towamensing Township is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance. Police said the vehicle was stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code violation.

• Bruce Hawk, 53, of Ashfield, is facing assault charges after an incident police responded to at 9:27 a.m. June 20 on Sand Quarry Road in East Penn Township.

Police said he intentionally rammed his vehicle occupied by four people and then struck another person with his vehicle, causing injuries.

The people who were hurt are a 38-year-old man from Northampton, a 23-year-old woman from Ashfield and two juveniles, both from East Penn Township.

• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident that happened between 5:30-5:50 p.m. June 17 at a property on Ash Lane, Polk Township.

The victim is a 71-year-old man from Kunkletown. He said six unidentified white males caused damage to the restroom area of his private pool before leaving the scene in a white-colored sedan.

• Police were called to a cruelty to animals incident on Laurel Springs Road in East Penn Township whereby a dog owner reported his dog, “Shibby,” was injured.

It happened between 1-3 a.m. June 15. Police said they contacted an assistant district attorney who declined prosecution due to the lack of evidence.

• A 49-year-old man from Danielsville is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him on a 2016 mini-scooter on Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township. The stop was made at 2:28 a.m. June 15 due to the operator having committed multiple Title 75 violations.

• A 46-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, both from Lehighton, are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:19 a.m. June 13 on Lehigh Drive in Palmerton.

Police said they stopped the 1995 Dodge for violations of Title 75 after which time the drugs were found in the vehicle. The driver is also facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, police said.

• Police responded to a death report at 5:33 a.m. June 10 on White Street in Weissport. They said a 71-year-old woman died of natural causes. The county coroner’s office is investigating the cause and police said there are no indications of criminal activity.

• Police were called to a theft reported at 2 p.m. June 7 on Jeans Drive, Penn Forest Township. A 57-year-old woman reported the theft of a television.

• A 49-year-old woman from Liverpool, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:25 a.m. June 3.

She was stopped in a 2011 Toyota for multiple Title 75 violations on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East in Mahoning Township.
