State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following accidents:
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 9:23 a.m. June 18 on Route 22 in Hanover Township.
Police said it happened when a 2021 Peterbilt driven by Kevin L. Pierce, 54, of Rising Sun, Maryland, and a 2021 Kia Sorento operated by Richard W. Amadeo, 62, of Kunkletown, were westbound. They said the Sorento merged into the right travel lane and was struck by the Peterbilt, whose driver was unable to avoid the collision. The Peterbilt continued to strike the guiderail, partially traveling through it.
Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
They said Pierce was cited for unlawful activities.
• Injuries were averted in a two-vehicle crash at 3:10 p.m. June 18 on Mauch Chunk Road in North Whitehall Township.
Police said it happened when a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by Paulette Yonosh, 80, of Slatington, traveling south, crossed into the northbound lane and approached a vehicle head-on that was driven by Shaun T. Fenon, 42, of Schnecksville.
Police said the LeSabre struck the vehicle and continued through the southbound lane, traveling off the roadway and coming to rest in a field.
Police said Yonosh was evaluated at the scene by personnel from the Northern Valley EMS but refused a medical transport. They said her husband arrived at the scene and took her to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township, for a further evaluation. Fenon was not injured.
Police said the LeSabre was towed from the scene.
