A Schuylkill County man has died following a swimming incident in Kline Township.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s office said Michael J. Scarlato, 55, of McAdoo, died at 10:01 p.m. Monday t Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

The coroner said he had a complication from a cervical spine fracture due to an at-home swimming incident.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the afternoon of June 17 for an unconscious man in the pool.

Police said emergency responders arrived on scene and began performing life saving measures before the man was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

He was later lifeflighted to the Salisbury Township facility.
