Palmerton Police log

Palmerton Police Department responded to 357 calls during the months of April and May.

The following were charged:

• Omar Palacios, 22, Hazleton, delivery resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility, on Dec. 25, 2022, in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue.

• Michael Quap, 54, Palmerton, defrauding secured creditors, on Feb. 23 in the 700 block of Church Street.

• Sharonda Condon, 41, Coplay, two counts of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, and one count each of bad checks, tampering with records of identification, and access device fraud, on March 15 in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue.

• Francisco Gomez, 36, Palmerton, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property on April 14 in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue.

• Jason Koons, 41, Bowmanstown, two counts of criminal trespass, one count of criminal mischief, on April 23 in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue.

• Stephanie Ransel, 33, Palmerton, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, harassment by communication, on May 5 in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue.

• Melissa Wayda, 35, Palmerton, simple assault, and harassment by physical contact, on May 13 in the 400 block of Fourth Street.

• Gregory Butler, 33, Palmerton, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, on May 21 in the 100 block of Avenue A.

• Thomas Scherer, 43, Palmerton, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, on May 21 in the Unit Block of Avenue A.

• Ryan Rehrig, 44, Palmerton, simple assault, and harassment by physical contact, on May 27 at the intersection of Ridge Street and Alley A.

Other incidents:

• Palmerton Police filed 11 non-traffic citations; seven for unpaid parking tickets, two for harassment by physical contact, and one each for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

• Palmerton Police issued 11 traffic violation warnings and 58 traffic citations: 24 for expired inspection, five each for speeding and obedience to traffic control devices, three each for expired registration and driving under suspension, two each for stop sign violations, careless driving, driving without a license, operating an ATV on streets and highways, and exhaust systems, and one each for investigation by police officers, driving without insurance, suspended registration, display of registration plate, illegible registration plate, immediate notice of accident to police, fraudulent use of registration plate, and expired emissions.
