A Jim Thorpe home received heavy damage Tuesday evening due to a fast moving fire. Just before 6 p.m. a working dwelling fire was reported at 632 Center St. with flames showing. Fire companies from numerous Carbon County fire companies were dispatched, making a fast stop. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down numerous streets.
