Monroe County crashes

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:

• Osmar M. Kongolo, 20, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 6:39 p.m. June 5 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2013 Ford Focus southbound when he lost control of the vehicle and it traveled across Beaver Valley Road, striking a guide rail.

The car had heavy damages, police said.

Police said Kongolo refused medical treatment at the scene.

• Damages were minor in a two-vehicle crash at 2:45 p.m. June 3 on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.

Police said the driver of a Mercedes-Benz, who they did not identify, pulled out of a parking lot and struck the passenger’s side of a 2021 Ford Transit Connect driven by Samuel Cadora IV, 26, of Scranton, before fleeing the scene.

Police said the Ford sustained minor damages. Cadora was uninjured.

• A 91-year-old woman from Sciota was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:54 p.m. June 18 on Brick Church Road, Hamilton Township.

Police said Barbara J. Lake suffered head and chest injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and then flown by MedEvac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg, Bethlehem.

Police said she was driving a 2005 Toyota RAV4 southbound when it traveled across the northbound lane and off the east berm and struck a tree head-on.

The SUV was towed from the scene, police said.
