State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following incidents:

• William Stettler, 22, of Tamaqua, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 11:35 p.m. May 26.

He was stopped a 2005 Ford Escape for a traffic violation in the 400 block of North Claude A. Lord Boulevard in Pottsville.

• Police said a man was assaulted with a sword in an incident at 12:53 a.m. June 15 in Mechanicsville. He had a cut on his face.

They said they were called to the 900 block of East Norwegian Street in the borough where it was reported a man used he sword to assault the victim, They did not reveal the identities of the parties but said one man was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault while the other were cited for harassment.
