Man charged with harassment

Seth Beattie, 32, of Shenandoah, is facing multiple charges after state police from Frackville were called to a simple assault/harassment incident at 8:16 a.m. June 11 at a property on Mount Olive Boulevard in West Mahanoy Township.

Police said the people involved in the incident are a 41-year-old woman from Shenandoah, a 38-year-old woman from Frackville and a 33-year-old man from Frackville.

They said Beattie was in an argument that turned physical during a domestic-related incident when he struck the 41-year-old woman in the head several times.

Police said he was highly intoxicated and confrontational with troopers and continually acted disorderly, screaming and cursing at police, as well as getting in their faces and coming in proximity with them. Police said they made multiple attempts to de-escalate the incident with no results and at one point Beattie slapped a trooper on the shoulder. They said he was taken to the ground where a struggle ensued, resulting in Beattie being placed into custody several minutes later.
