Tamaqua Chamber adds social media intern
The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce has added a new member to its team.
Koreena Bitner will be serving as the chamber’s social media and content creator and joins the chamber as an intern.
Bitner, a senior at Tamaqua Area High School, is planning to graduate a year early to pursue a degree in film and cinematography. She will attend Lehigh Carbon Community College next fall, and she has aspirations to transfer to NYU.
“I’m excited to work with the Chamber because it gives me a little bit of an idea of what the workforce for film is going to be like,” Bitner said.
“When you think of film you think just movies, but social media and photojournalism also fit right into it. I’m super stoked to gain the ability to do more than just what I’m used to and go outside of my bubble. But, most importantly I am so happy to be helping my community and having the opportunity to gain friendships through the process.”
Aside from excelling in the digital realm, Bitner’s talents extend to playing guitar, acting and singing. She also appears on stage as she holds multiple roles at the Majestic Theater in Pottsville.
Aimee Dotson, the Chamber’s executive director, is enthusiastic about Bitner coming on board.
“We look forward to harnessing Koreena’s creativity and skills to connect with our support and promotion for our members, increase our visibility and promote Tamaqua,” Dotson said. “Living in a digital era where information is readily available, smartphones and social media enable us to reach broader audiences than ever before. We are excited to stay abreast of emerging trends and support our members with this added advantage.”
She added that Bitner will soon begin creating videos, promoting the area and showcasing not only Chamber members but all that Tamaqua has to offer.
