State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• A 2008 Chrysler Aspen was damaged when it struck a guide rail in an incident at 9:02 p.m. June 11 on West Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township.

Police said it happened when the vehicle was traveling west and its driver was not able to move any further for a J.I. Case farm equipment that took more than one lane as the vehicles approached each other. No one was hurt in the incident.

• Scott A. Breiner, 52, of Lehighton, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:42 p.m. May 26 on Mauch Chunk Street (Route 209) in Mahoning Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. They said the severity of his injuries is unknown.

Police said the crash happened when Monroe F. Berger Jr., 72, of White Haven, driving a 2016 Toyota RAV4 south on Route 209, attempted to make a U-turn in front of a 2017 Suzuki operated by Breiner, causing the cycle to strike the RAV4.

Police said Breiner suffered an injury to his right leg.

They said Berger was cited for the crash.

Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, police said.

• A 17-year-old boy from Wind Gap was cited after a two-vehicle mishap at 7:16 a.m. June 13 at the intersection of Route 115 and Ford Drive in Ross Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Dodge Neon north on Route 115 and was negotiating a left curve in the roadway when it traveled into the oncoming lane of gravel and struck a 2015 Honda Civic driven by Mollie M. Strunk, 25, of Stroudsburg.

Police said the Honda had to be towed from the scene while the Neon was able to be driven from it.
