Local Roundup: Results from June 18

Franklin Township’s Junior Connie Mack exploded late to roll past Northampton on Tuesday.

Franklin Township-Northampton

Franklin Township scored 14 runs in the final two innings to rout host Northampton, 19-2.

Brock Atwood finished with three hits and five RBIs for Franklin, who tallied six times in the fourth and eight more times in the fifth.

Aiden McCarroll collected two hits and knocked in four runs, while Cash White finished with three hits, three runs and three RBIs.

Franklin, now 9-4, also received three hits and three runs from Brian Mriss and a pair of hits and two runs from Landan Steigerwalt.

Braylon Hunsicker picked up the victory, allowing just three hits and no earned runs in four innings. He walked five and struck out six.

Jim Thorpe-Lehigh Township

Jim Thorpe jumped out to an early lead but couldn’t hold it as it dropped a 12-5 decision to Lehigh Township.

Carter Grant had an RBI single in the first inning as Thorpe raced to a 3-0 start. Blake Skrimcovsky’s run-scoring hit in the second made it 4-1 before Lehigh came back.

Zane Lynch gave the winners the lead in the fourth with a two-run homer. Matt Buskirk finished with two hits, three runs and two RBIs as Lehigh improved to 12-2.

For Thorpe, now 0-13, Skrimcovsky ended 2-for-4. Lucas Knopf also added a hit and an RBI.

LEHIGH VALLEY LEGION

Southern Lehigh-Northern Valley

After being held scoreless for five innings, Southern Lehigh pushed across three runs in the sixth inning to pull out a 3-2 victory over Northern Valley.

Connor Simms kept Solehi off the board before running into trouble in the sixth. Darien Cela delivered an RBI double, while Hayden Hess added a run-scoring hit.

The Chargers (4-4) pulled within a run in the seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.

Gabe Moscato went the distance for the winners, scattering six hits and walking none while striking out six.

Bobby Croneberger had two hits and scored a run for NV. Josh Lichman added a pair of hits, and Trey Sterling chipped in with an RBI single.

Berlinsville-Easton

Michael Wallbillich and Dan Orrego combined on a one-hit shutout as the Easton Falcons downed the Berlinsville Braves 6-0.

Wallbillich pitched six innings, giving up a hit to Jim Thorpe graduate Noah Snisky.

Orrego tossed a hitless seventh to complete the win. Orrego also starred in the batter’s box, collecting two hits including a three-run homer in the first inning.

Palmerton product Luke Netznik suffered the loss. The former Bomber struck out three in his six innings of work.
