Fire companies from Carbon and Luzerne countries responded to a working dwelling fire Saturday afternoon in McAdoo. The fire was reported just before 2 p.m. at 59 South Kennedy Drive. Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the rear of the residence. A community official reported the blaze started as a kitchen fire. Firemen had the fire under control in an hour.
