Local Roundup: Results from June 11

Franklin Township rallied for a win over Hellertown in Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack action on Tuesday.

Franklin Township-Hellertown

Franklin Township rallied late to force extra innings and then pushed across a run in the eighth to pull out a 6-5 victory over Hellertown.

Trailing 5-2 entering the seventh, Franklin used a wild pitch and RBI singles by both Jake Albert and Brayden Ulshafer to score three runs.

In the eighth, Brock Atwood led off with a single and eventually scored what proved to be the winning run on Brian Mriss’ sacrifice fly.

Ulshafer had two hits, a run and an RBI for the winners, now 8-2. Cash White gained the win in relief, allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out four in 3 1/3 innings.

CMJ Panthers Red-Jim Thorpe

Kyle Brown pitched a one-hit shutout to lead CMJ Panthers Red to a 7-0 victory over Jim Thorpe.

Brown walked three and struck out four.

Jake Peters and Bo Magargal both had two hits for the winners, while Eli Szlachtianshyn and Peters each knocked in a pair of runs.

Bryce McElmoyle delivered the only hit for Thorpe (0-11).

Berlinsville-Limeport

A six-run first inning by the Limeport Bulls proved costly to Berlinsville as the Braves dropped a 13-4 decision.

Berlinsville starter and Palmerton graduate Luke Netznik deserved a better fate. Despite giving up eight runs over three innings, only two of the runs were earned.

Rommel Perez paced the Braves (5-5) with two hits, one a triple, and an RBI. Zach Day also tripled and knocked in a run, while Owen Ness added a hit, stolen base and a run.

For Limeport, now 9-1, Damin Muth collected a pair of hits, scored twice and had two RBIs.
