Duser allows a pair of first-inning runs and then shuts the door over the final eight frames. He finishes with four walks and 10 strikeouts. The winning hurler also helps his own cause with a double and two runs. Don “Ducky” Sheehan collects a pair of hits for Mauch Chunk, coached by Mickey Hodor, while Allen Kasten and Steidle both add a hit and two runs. Also contributing is Franklin “Snuffy” Smith, who chips in with a hit and a run.
