Tamaqua library

Father’s Day is right around the corner. Celebrate Dad with a Father’s Day apron Cricut class. The class will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, at the library at 30 S. Railroad St., Tamaqua. There will be a choice of five designs to choose from, and children are welcome. An $8 donation is requested to cover the cost of materials.

The Tamaqua Public Library will host a Kids’ Karnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 14. The day will feature outdoor games, food, and a PA One book giveaway. The Karnival will be held rain or shine at the library.

This summer’s free reading program, Adventure Begins at Your Library, starts on June 17 and runs through Aug. 8. It’s open to those in babyhood through the teenage years. The young children’s’ program is geared to kids up to age 5. It will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The children’s’ program is for youngsters age 6 to 8, and meets from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays. The older children’s program, for ages 9 to 12, meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mondays. The teenage program meets from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays.

On July 1, the Tamaqua Public Library will hold a Stuffie workshop. The event begins at 5 p.m. Registration is required as spots are limited. Pre-order your Stuffie for $25.

The library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays; from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.

Panther Valley library

The Panther Valley Public Library will hold its summer reading program July 10, 17, 24 and 31 for children ages 3 to 5 and July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2 for children ages 6 to 9.

This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

Library hours are from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 5-7 p.m. Thursdays.
