TOPS meeting

Take off Pounds Sensibly will meet at Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran in Kresgeville at 6 p.m., Wednesday.

Summer hours

The Garden of Giving begins summer hours of 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, beginning Friday.

Indoor helpers are still needed for the office, for the computer and to organize the various volunteer groups.

PVEN lunch begins

A drive-through summer lunch program offered by the PVEN will begin on Thursday, June 6.

It will run every Thursday from 8 to 11 a.m. through Aug. 15 at the PVEN Food Pantry and Clothing Closet, 2334 Route. 209, Sciota.

Each eligible child under the age of 18 will receive five days worth of shelf-stable lunches to take home.

There are no residency or income requirements.

The adult in each group will be asked to sign for meals once received.

Adoration

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is having its next 24-hour overnight adoration on Friday and Saturday. Those members willing to serve are asked to sign-up for a l-hour time slot online.

Anyone needing help to do so can call the church secretary.

Food pantry donations

Folks supporting the Food pantry (Supplemental Food Resource Genter) at Effort United Methodist Church are asked to donate summer supplies, such as ketchup, barbecue sauce, mustard, etc.

Queen of Peace auditions

The leadership for Our Lady Queen of Peace Church’s Stellar VBS is holding auditions for Mickey Wey, Leader, and other key roles in the opening and closing skits at 6 p.m. on June 6 and 10 a.m. on June 8. Meet at the parish office entrance.

Adults and youth (sixth grade and older) can sign up to volunteer for a variety of roles.

Full and partial week volunteer opportunities are available.

MC Seniors

The Monroe County Seniors will meet at Zion Lutheran on Friday at 9 a.m. and also next Wednesday. The daily schedule includes lunch and activities.

Breakfast

McMichaels United Methodist Church is serving a donation-only breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month.

A complete breakfast is served.

Music is provided and led by a band by Dennis Maida. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday special

Salem-St. Paul’s Sunday’s Family and Youth event is happening this Sunday.

Women meet

The Effort Women’s Group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Effort United Methodist Church in Wesley Hall.

Knit & Crochet

The Knit & Crochet group at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Polk meeting

The Polk Township supervisors will hold a general meeting at 8 a.m. June 13.

Pastor retiring

Effort United Methodist Church’s Pastor Robin G. Fisher is retiring from her position at the church. A retirement celebration in her honor will be held June 15, beginning at 2 p.m. in the church pavilion.

Her last day in the pulpit will be Sunday, June 16.

Car show

St. Matthew’s CIA has announced the annual car show for Father’s Day, June 16, rain or shine.

It begins with breakfast sandwiches at 8 a.m., worship at 10 a.m., and entertainment by the Brian Dean Moore Band from noon to 2 p.m. Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m., and the Cramer Brothers Band will perform from 3 to 5 p.m.

Church f?ield day

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church will be hosting Good Vibes Field Day for PV Kids from 1 to 4 p.m. June 22, at the church in the lower field.

Any child entering first through sixth grade may attend this special event.

All attendees must preregister and sign the online waivers.

Summer camp

Registration for three summer camps at Monroe County’s Quiet Valley Living

Historical Farm are now open.

They include Living History Camp on June 24 through 28; Farm Explorers Camp 1820s, July 8 to 12; and Nature Explorers, July 15 to 19.
