Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Included during this time is recognition to students who graduated from high school and institutions of higher learning. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trinitythriftstore.

Looking ahead is Vacation Bible School with Zion UCC, to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. July 22 to 24 at Trinity. Young people ages 3 through sixth grade are invited to “Start the Party: Celebrate the Good News.” Free registration.

St. John’s

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday in Fellowship hall. A Congregational meeting will follow.

A council meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. on June 10.

Book Club will met at 6:30 p.m. on June 25 to discuss “The Last House Guest” by Megan Miranda.

Dinkey Memorial Church has a food cupboard available to those in need of supplemental food resources. It is available to members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s, and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room, located below the sanctuary. If you or anyone you know would benefit from receiving food from the Community Cupboard, please speak with Pastor Tony.

Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold an 8 a.m. worship service with a Praise Band; 10:15 a.m. traditional service; and Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. Communion will be served the first Sunday of each month.

• Sunday: Confirmation Sunday with Communion is held at 10:15 a.m.

• Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Senior Choir Practice

• Thursday at 6:45 p.m., Handbell Choir Practice

• King’s Kids Choir will practice the first and second Sunday of the month following the 10:15 worship service. Any child interested in joining, please contact the church for further contact information.

• King’s Kids Choir will sing the third Sunday of the month.

• June 9: Strawberry social, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Music by Lost and Found.

• Vacation Bible School: June 17 to 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme is “Celebrating God’s Greatness.”

• Summer worship schedule for June, July and August will be 9 a.m. Sunday school will resume on Sept. 8.
