Quilt guild to host demonstration Friday

The Sew What Quilt Guild will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Palmerton Area Library upstairs gallery. Kristin Simmons will be demonstrating a no more tears paper piecing technique.

At the June meeting, Terri and Cheryl will be handing out the pieces for the blocks for the queen size quilt for the upcoming bingo in October.

If you were not at the May meeting, the group asked everyone to write down your name, address, email and month/day birthday. If you want to share this information with the guild, you can email at microsys@ptd.net your information or give it to Terri at the next meeting.

The group’s July meeting will be the yearly picnic at the library. A sign-up sheet will go around at the June meeting for what dish that you wish to bring. If you cannot make the June meeting and wish to participate, email Brenda with the item you want to bring.

At the August meeting, Kathleen McCartney will be giving a class on the Quick Curve Mini ruler (sewkindofwonderful.com). More information will follow.

Upcoming events include Quilt Lovers Bingo on Oct. 13 at the Aquashicola Fire Company. Every prize will be a quilt, from lap size to queen. The group is looking for donations of quilts. If you only want to make the top, the guild will make sure that it is quilted. The proceeds will benefit the library and the guild.
