Forest Fire Task Force conducts training in Emerald

On Saturday, The Lehigh County Forest Fire Task Force, #99 held a training practice near the Emerald Fire Company.

The training consisted of using a saw which is used to cut down trees that are on fire during a forest fire. They also trained on a progressive hose pack which contains a firehose that is arranged in a way that can be deployed fast and easily and structure training with a sprinkler kit system to protect structures when danger of fire is near.

Task Force #99 has about 20 firefighters for their hand crew. They are all volunteers from Emerald, Slatedale, Germansville, Whitehall, Western Salisbury, Lower Saucon, Alburtis, Lehigh Township, Lynnport, and Allen Township. They respond to a set rendezvous near the fire scene.
