Workers and customers escaped injury Sunday morning when there was a gas explosion in the kitchen area of the well known eatery, La Dolce Casa on West Broad Street in Tamaqua.
All four fire companies, Tamaqua Rescue Squad and Tamaqua ambulance responded.
Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down Broad Street, Route 209.
