Several people were injured Saturday afternoon when involved in a crash in Walker Township. The incident occurred around noon when a motorist traveling east lost control, entering the right berm and snapping off a utility pole.
The vehicle continued crossing the roadway striking a west bound sport utility vehicle. Both units came to rest on a lawn on the northbound shoulder. The victims were treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua and New Ringgold ambulances and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center.
Responding were the New England Valley and Tamaqua fire companies and the Tamaqua Rescue Squad. The incident occurred in Blythe Township with the vehicles coming to rest in Walker Township. Blythe Township police are investigating the incident.
