State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Courtney L. Horwith, 34, of Walnutport, was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 1:09 p.m. May 9 on Airport Center Road in Hanover Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Northampton Regional Ambulance to a hospital to be treated for a right shoulder injury.

Police said the crash happened when Hope R. Dorn, 39, of Nazareth, driving a 2017 Kia Sorento west, abruptly changed lanes without proper clearance and struck a 2018 Ford Explorer driven by Horwith.

Police said Dorn was cited for the crash, both vehicles were towed from the scene.

• Wayne A. Boger Jr., 31, of Walnutport, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 11:15 p.m. May 6 on Route 987 in East Allen Township. Police said he was driving a 2001 Nissan Frontier northbound at an apparent high rate of speed when he went through an intersection and traveled off the right shoulder of the road then striking a Verizon utility pole.

Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

• Andrea Gelinas, 34, of Slatington, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a motorcycle crash at 9:31 p.m. May 6 on the Bake Oven Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said she was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after sustaining road rash injuries to her back, arms and legs.

They did not provide any other details of the incident.

• Vanessa N. Stahler, 29, of Tamaqua, was hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 6:46 a.m. May 12 on Route 309 in Heidelberg Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to a hospital for an evaluation.

They said she was driving a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe south and was traveling too fast for conditions when the vehicle lost control. They said Stahler “over steered,” causing the vehicle to cross over the northbound lane and strike an embankment. It continued south and crossed the southbound lane before coming to a halt. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Police said Stahler was cited for the crash.
