Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Fellowship cookout hosted by the Youth Group follows Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Picnic fare will be served for free. There will be a pie throwing booth as a fundraiser. All are welcome.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours in May are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trinitythriftstore.

Recognition of graduates takes place during the June 9 worship time. Any member who has graduated from high school or any institution of higher learning will be recognized. Please email or phone your information to the church office by June 5.

Looking ahead is Vacation Bible School with Zion UCC, to be held at Trinity July 22-24, 6-8 p.m. Young people ages 3 through grade 6 are invited to “Start the Party: Celebrate the Good News.” Free registration.

Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold an 8 a.m. worship service with a Praise Band; 10:15 a.m. traditional service; and Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. Communion will be served the first Sunday of each month.

• Sunday: Confirmation Sunday with Communion is held at 10:15 a.m.

• Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Senior Choir Practice

• Thursday at 6:45 p.m., Handbell Choir Practice

• King’s Kids Choir will practice the first and second Sunday of the month following the 10:15 worship service. Any child interested in joining, please contact the church for further contact information.

• King’s Kids Choir will sing the third Sunday of the month.

• Vacation Bible School: June 17-21 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is “Celebrating God’s Greatness.”

• Summer worship schedule for June, July and August will be 9 a.m. Sunday school will resume on Sept. 8.
