HNL Lab Medicine is still accepting submissions from students in kindergarten through eighth grade for the “Microscopy” art contest.
Students can use color pencils or crayons to draw and color what they imagine would be revealed under the lens of a microscope. Contestants have the freedom to let their imagination soar and create fantastical scenes or intricate structures that could exist in the microscopic world.
Be sure to include the artist’s first and last name, grade, and a contact email address for patient/teacher/guardian.
Winners will receive an age-appropriate microscope kit, in addition to having their artwork featured in HNL Lab Medicine’s Patient Service Centers.
Interested participants should create their microscopy design using the template that can be printed off the contest webpage.
Designs can be submitted digitally using the online form at https://www.hnl.com/patients/annual-artwork-contest. All submissions must be received by May 31. Winners will be announced on June 18 on HNL Lab Medicine’s Facebook page. Categories that students can win include most creative, more realistic and most expressive.
