Northern Lehigh School Board

Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following matters on Monday:

Curriculum & Instruction

• Adoption and purchase of Amplify CKLA and Amplify ELA for grades K-6 at a cost not to exceed $291,159, to be funded through the ESSER III Grant and the district’s fund balance.

• Renew the Read 180 and Math 180 service contract for special needs students for the 2024-2025 school year at a cost of $19,187, to be funded through Medical Access.

• Agreement with IXL subscriptions for Slatington Elementary School beginning immediately, through September 2025 as an instructional and assessment tool, at a cost of $8,500, to be funded through the Slatington Elementary School budget.

• Renew the Unique Learning System service contract for special needs students for the 2024-2025 school year at a cost of $2,265, an increase of $165 from last year, to be funded through Medical Access.

• Gabryella Wilder, helping teacher, for Katie Cappuccino, at a stipend of $800.

• Steven Jonkman, helping teacher, for Mikayla Vangelo, at a stipend of $800.

• Shannon Jones, helping teacher, for Mikayla Vangelo, at a stipend of $200.

• Allyson DeHart, helping teacher, for Krista Petrulsky, at a stipend of $800.

• Karen Beltz, support staff assistant, as a mentor for Janna Seip, new employee, at a stipend of $100, in accordance with the Northern Lehigh School District Administrative Support Staff Agreement.

• Special Education Plan, from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027.

• Execute contracts for Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title IV for the 2024-2025 school year.

Conferences

• James Schnyderite, CKLA visit, April 16, Hughesville, $137, funded through the district’s curriculum budget.

• Scott Pyne, PDE Keystone Rangefinding, July 8-12, King of Prussia, at no cost, and CKLA visit, April 11, Mechanicsburg, $127, funded from the district’s curriculum budget.

• Mark Nicosia, Municipal Police Rifle Instructor, July 29-31, Schwensksville, with the cost of registration $300, travel, $178, meals, $45, and other expenses, $542, for a total cost of about $1,065, to be funded through the district’s school police budget.

• Dr. Tania Stoker, EF Tours Global Leadership Development Program, Panama, Oct. 10-14, $397, to be funded through the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators scholarship and assistant superintendent’s budget.

Policy

• Olivia Schaffer as student representative to the board for the 2024-2025 year, as the junior representative to the board from September 2024 through June 2026. Jalah Cook will serve as the senior student representative to the board until June 2025.

• Initial club/activity application for the Northern Lehigh High School Film Club. The Northern Lehigh Education Association recommended stipend for the advisor of this club, Nick Sander, is $200, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Upon approval by the board, the approved stipend will be added to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
