An ongoing police investigation continues to be conducted in Slatington.

The Slatington Police Department posted word of the situation on its Facebook page just after 10 a.m. Thursday.

It states that police have received numerous questions regarding the activity in the area of W. Franklin and Seventh Street over the last few days.

“There is an ongoing police investigation being conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police and Slatington Borough Police Departments in the area,” said Slatington Borough Police Chief Greg Winokur. “There is no threat to the community.”

Winokur added that no further information would be released at this time.

“We thank you for your cooperation and continued support,” he said.

Contacted Thursday afternoon, Trooper Nathan Branosky, police spokesperson, said it’s an active investigation between Pennsylvania State Police and Slatington Borough Police.

Branosky declined to release details.
