Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on May 2 with 26 members in attendance.
The vice president opened the meeting with the invocation, “One Prayer at a Time.”
The seniors welcomed back one of its members. Bingo and cards were played.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim will share a message of joy through Jesus Christ and celebrate the mothers in our lives during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary in Lewistown. Special music will be provided. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service.
Cleanup at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle will be held on May 14. Volunteers can arrive at any time.
May 19 is Pentecost Sunday and attendees are asked to wear red.
Poppy Sale
The Andreas VFW will be selling poppies at the Hometown Farmers’ Market on from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. May 22 and at the EZ Mart, Route 309, Snyders, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 26.
Barbershop Chorus
The Coalcracker Barbershop Chorus invites folks to attend its practices to learn, listen, and sing along. The group practices from 7:30-9 p.m. every Monday at the Tamaqua Arts Center and is looking to expand so it can perform at more community events and share the gift of barbershop singing.
No strings attached. No cost. No commitment. The group is open to men and women high school age and older.

Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
St. Peter’s - West Penn
The Sunday schedule at St. Peter’s in West Penn Township is: 9 a.m. worship service for Mother’s Day and Joyous Noise Offering, and 10:15 a.m. Sunday school.
The prayer group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, which is the June newsletter deadline.
On May 16, the Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m., and the Senior Choir meets at 7 p.m.
The preschool raffle drawing is at 2 p.m. May 17.
