Building construction authorized in Carbon County in March totaled $111,600, according to State Department of Labor and Industry figures.
The total was compiled from reports submitted to the state by six permit-issuing municipalities. Of this total construction new residential building accounted for $75,000.
Four permits were issued in Palmerton with a value of $58,000, including construction work that will cost $55,000; three permits were given in Lehighton totaling $15,900; and two permits were issued in Weatherly at a cost of $37,700.
Lansford, Jim Thorpe and Summit Hill did not report any building activity during the month.
