Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship is in Luther Hall afterward.

The final Sunday Church School classes for students age 3 through grade 6 and confirmation preparatory instruction classes begin at 10:45 a.m. Marking this event is an environmentally-friendly balloon release and ice cream sundaes. The Rite of Confirmation is May 19. Church School classes resume in September.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

Movie Night will be held in Luther Hall at 7 p.m. on May 18. Free admission to view “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” starring Harrision Ford. Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase to benefit Youth Group activities.

Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold an 8 a.m. worship service with a Praise Band; 10:15 a.m. traditional service; and Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. Communion service will be the first Sunday of each month.

• Thursday at 6:45 p.m., Handbell Choir Practice

• King’s Kids Choir will practice the first and second Sunday of the month following the 10:15 worship service. Any child interested in joining, please contact the church for further contact information.

• Vacation Bible School: June 17-21 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is “Celebrating God’s Greatness.”

Summer worship schedule for June, July and August will be 9 a.m. Sunday school will resume on Sept. 8.
