A trooper had to be treated and released from the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township, after he was bitten by a man in a 302 commitment incident at 6:17 p.m. April 18 at a property on Lil Wolf Circle, North Whitehall Township.
State police at Bethlehem said they were summoned to assist Lehigh County crisis workers at the residence, where the 50-year-old man from Orefield refused to be transported to a hospital. During the troopers interaction with the man, he bit him in the leg, breaking his skin.
The man was transported to the hospital and police said they obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.
