The Tamaqua Police Department is investigating a recent rash of vehicle break-ins.

The incidents were reported early Thursday morning in the North Ward and South Ward sections of the borough, including Clay, North Lehigh, Gay and Brown streets.

Suspects stole items from inside the vehicles containing personal information and credit cards, police said. According to police, many of the vehicles were unlocked.

Police urged residents to lock their vehicles and homes especially upon retiring for the night.

The department also asked residents to contact officers about any suspicious activities they see or may have captured on their security or doorbell cameras. The department can be reached at 570-668-5000.
