A local dietetics student has been recognized with the 2024 Outstanding Dietetics Student of the Year Award- Didactic Program in Dietetics from the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.

Saige Marie Sterner of Jim Thorpe will receive her bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from Marywood University in May and will start her dietetic internship at Marywood University in July.

Additionally, Sterner is currently enrolled in the Master’s Dietetic Internship Program at Marywood and will receive her master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics in May. Sterner is currently the lab instructor and manager for the nutrition department at Marywood University for the 2023-2024 school year and has previously worked as the lab assistant.

Her goals are to work as a pediatric clinical dietitian and become a professor.
