The Northern Lehigh community appears poised to become the next area to recognize its proud veterans.
The Hometown Heroes Banners was a topic of discussion at Thursday’s Walnutport Borough Council meeting.
Councilman David Wentling displayed several of the prospective banners, as it was noted there are several sizes being considered.
Councilwoman Patrice Hunsicker said the borough was combining with neighboring Slatington Borough, Washington Township and Lehigh Township.
While several prices were discussed depending on the size of the banners, it was noted that the biggest expense will be the brackets.
Council President Michael Gaston said he doesn’t believe the large banners will work on Main Street.
Hunsicker said the process is expected to take a while, and added the endeavor is geared to recognize the veterans for their service to our country.
