Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.

• April 27: Community Yard Sale

April Mission: Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.

Food pantry: If you would like to donate canned goods and/or nonperishable food items for the food pantry, please drop off in the church lobby. If you know a family or friend in need of food we would like to help.

Benevolence committee: The committee is looking for new members to help with assisting those who are in need of funds. If interested in helping, contact Sandy Jenkins by calling the church office.

New Sunday school series: Contemporary adult class led by Sam Heiney in Room 113 will begin on April 28. Theme is “Just Walk Across the Room.”

• National Day of Prayer: 7-7:30 p.m. May 2 in the sanctuary.

• Mother’s Day Tea: 11 a.m. May 4. Tickets are available for purchase before and after Sunday school on April 28. It is open to the whole family.

Dementia 101

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton, will host “Dementia 101: Understanding the Diagnosis” at 6:30 p.m. on April 30.

The workshop, presented by Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Homes, is for caregivers covering the basics of dementia and providing advice on communicating with those diagnosed with the condition.

RSVP is not required but is appreciated. To RSVP, call 610-681-4412 by April 28.
