Weis Markets announced three of their associates were honored by Geisinger Trauma Services for putting their ‘Stop the Bleed’ training into action at Weis’ Muncy store location on East Penn Street.

Last year, nearly 3,000 Weis Markets associates took part in Geisinger’s Stop the Bleed LMS training course, which taught simple steps on how to stop or slow life-threatening bleeding.

Because of this training, associates jumped into action when a customer experienced a severe bleed, due to a previous foot injury, while shopping in Weis.

The Weis associates used materials found in the bleeding-control kits provided to all Weis Markets members who completed the training. These kits are strategically placed throughout all Weis Markets store locations.
