In his proclamation of March 29 (“A Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility”), the President of the United States does well to insist upon fair treatment for all Americans in society.
President Biden then calls extremists those who propose “hateful laws (…) even threatening parents, doctors and nurses for helping parents get care for their children.”
Since when is capitulation to, and enshrinement of, psychiatric pathology to be called “care?” If as a ten year-old boy I had believed that my healthy hand was cancerous, and my parents had arranged for it to be amputated, would not that have been mutilation rather than care?
Mutilating healthy juvenile bodies in a misguided attempt to alleviate psychiatric illness is not a practice worthy of support by any American, let alone our president.
