Turnpike incidents
State police at Pocono report the following:
• Police said Antoinette M. Ellis, 18, of Philadelphia, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:15 p.m. March 27 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. It happened at mile marker 85.2 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said she was driving a 2011 Buick Regal northbound when it struck a center concrete barrier off the left lane of travel.
• No injuries were reported in a crash at 2:09 a.m. March 16 at mile marker 76.5 in Franklin Township.
Katherine A. Simmons, 72, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty that struck a deer that had jumped over the center concrete median into its path.
• Police investigated a crash at 5:12 p.m. March 13 at mile marker 72.5 in East Penn Township.
They said Barry J. Fulton, 25, of Summit Hill, was driving a 2022 Subaru Impreza southbound when an unknown vehicle passed him and the vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Impreza and failed to stop.
Police said Fulton’s vehicle struck the center concrete barrier before the driver was able to pull it off the roadway. He was uninjured.
• Paul L. Jamison, 43, of Summerton, South Carolina, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a crash at 11:27 a.m. March 12 at mile marker 78.8 in Franklin Township. No one was hurt in the incident.
Police said Jamison was driving a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia northbound and failed to utilize caution when passing slower vehicles during periods of heavy congested traffic, when a 2016 International driven by David J. McBride, 75, of Binghamton, New York, struck the Cascadia in the rear.
Police said the International was towed from the scene while the Cascadia was able to be driven from the scene.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:41 p.m. March 10 at mile marker 96.4 in Kidder Township.
Police said Alexis M. Hauber, 26, of Levittown, was driving a 2018 GMC Acadia northbound when she encountered a snow squall, spun out and struck the center concrete barrier.
There was one other adult and five juvenile passengers in the Acadia at the time, police said.
Police said the sudden change in weather conditions before and after the crash resulted in three other crashes on the turnpike, all in Bear Creek Township.
• Two King of Prussia residents were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:25 p.m. March 10 at mile marker 76.8 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said William J. Wisely, 81, the driver of the vehicle, and Patricia F. Wisely, 80, were transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Police said the incident happened when their 2021 Nissan Altima was southbound when a heavy rainstorm took place, rendering the highway hazardous for normal driving conditions and speeds.
They said William Wisely lost control of the car, which went up an embankment, spun out, returned to the roadway and crashed into the center concrete barrier.
• Vinki N. Pablani, 45, of Lehighton, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a two-vehicle crash at 3:33 p.m. March 9 at mile marker 81.8 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was injured and transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. They said the severity of his injuries is unknown.
Police said the crash happened when Pablani, driving a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander southbound, encountered heavy rain that rendered the roadways hazardous for normal driving conditions and speeds.
They said the Outlander spun out, struck the center concrete barrier and bounced back onto the road, striking a 2015 Chevrolet 3500 operated by Cody R. Walck, 30, of Jim Thorpe.
Walck was uninjured, police said.
Police said after striking the Chevrolet, the Outlander hit a guide rail before ricocheting back into the travel lanes before eventually striking the concrete barrier head-on.
• Pulot Rakhmatov, 61, of Brooklyn, New York, was cited for careless driving after an incident at 3:32 a.m. March 8 in the parking lot of the Hickory Run Plaza in Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was driving a 2020 Volvo in the truck parking area when it struck a 2005 Peterbilt, pushing the latter vehicle into a 2020 Volvo. The Peterbilt was operated by Dominique Boisvert, 49, of Victoriaville, Canada, while the second Volvo was operated by Ochir E. Khurandaa, 43, of Arlington Heights, Illinois.
No one was hurt in the incident.
• Timothy A. Scott, 54, of Syracuse, New York, was uninjured in a crash at 9:35 a.m. March 5 at mile marker 82.9 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was driving a 217 Chevrolet Malibu northbound when it struck a patch of water in the roadway and hit a concrete barrier before leaving the roadway and striking a second barrier on the right side of the road.
Police said the Malibu was towed from the scene.
• No one was hurt in a mishap at 8:27 a.m. March 26 in the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
State police said it happened at mile marker 71.5 in Washington Township.
They said a 2017 Volkswagen driven by Clement M. Rinaldi, 29, of Waverly Township, was southbound when it failed to stop for traffic that had slowed in front of him, striking the rear of a Subaru Forester operated by Melvin R. Quick, 58, of Orangeville.
