Letter to the Editor: Medical funding is a head scratcher

Dear Editor,

On March 18 a piece titled “Biden to sign order for women’s health studies” was about Biden signing an executive order aimed at advancing women’s health.

The piece states that, for most of medical history, scientific study was based almost entirely on men. Today, research often fails to properly track differences between women and men and does not represent women equally particularly for illnesses more common to them. “We still know too little about how to effectively prevent, diagnose and treat a wide array of health conditions in women,” said Dr. Carolyn Mazure, head of the White House initiative on women’s health.

The last I checked women live longer than men.

I thought there was no difference between the sexes according to certain factions that think that way. And how do you do research on those that are transgendered or identify with one of the numerous genders currently populating the planet? Are guys changing their sex to save on life and car insurance. This could really cause issues in the research.

Women were a critical part of the coalition that elected Biden in 2020, giving him 55% of their vote. Then it goes on to bring up the Supreme Court’s decision that overturned federal abortion rights. You knew that was coming.

This is obviously a political stunt to get more women to vote for Biden in November.

The piece continues to say Trump had a modest advantage among white women without college degrees. Reading into that sentence is - dumb white women voted for Trump and smart women voted for Biden.

NIH (Natural Institute of Health) research how medications affect men and women differently. There we go again; men and women are different. Somebody better tell the liberals that. Women were being overmedicated and suffering side effects from common medications because most of the dosage trails were done only on men.

Shouldn’t your doctor know this?

They keep telling us there’s no difference between men and women, everything that fits the narrative is equal. The $100 million in funding announced last month for women’s health tells me differently.
