There will be a five-mile hike starting at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Locust Lake State Park.

The hike, moderate in difficulty, will explore the mountain behind the state park and go to Silver Creek Fire Tower.

The pine stands and brush are perfect habitat for birds and other wildlife. Meet at the visitor parking lot at Locust Lake State Park located before the contact station at 10:15 a.m. Hikers will go to another area to start the hike. Bring a lunch. All pets must be leashed.
