A 59-year-old man died in an attack in Lehighton on Monday afternoon, according to state police.
Lehighton Borough Police responded to an incident on Carbon Street in the borough around 3:30 p.m. and found the man with life threatening injuries after being struck with a “piercing object,” according to a news release from state police.
State police say the man was taken to St. Luke’s Carbon where he was pronounced dead.
State police said a suspect is in custody.
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop N Major Case Team has taken over the investigation, as requested by the Carbon County District Attorney’s Office.
