Local Roundup: Results from March 15
Lehighton and Northern Lehigh split its action over the weekend.
The Indian baseball squad picked up a victory over the Bulldogs, while Nolehi’s softball team edged the Tribe.
In another weekend contest, Pleasant Valley’s girls lacrosse team cruised past Perkiomen Valley.
BASEBALL
Northern Lehigh-Lehighton
Brady O’Donnell collected three hits to help Lehighton gain a 10-2 non-league victory over Northern Lehigh.
O’Donnell also scored twice and knocked in a run as the Indians improved to 2-0.
Noal Barndt added a pair of hits, a run and an RBI, while Aiden Rarick and Dawson Keiser both finished with a hit and two RBIs for the winners, who scored five runs in the first inning.
For the Bulldogs, Brayden Tocci and Jack Tosh each delivered a hit and an RBI. Brayden Buskirk and Christopher Vargos each chipped in with a hit and a run scored.

SOFTBALL
Northern Lehigh-Lehighton
Northern Lehigh held off a late Lehighton rally to earn an 11-10 non-league victory in its season opener.
Tegan Simms and Kaylee Snyder both had two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Bulldogs, while Snyder also knocked in a run.
Winning pitcher Emma Smith, who collected her 100th-career strikeout in the contest, finished with a pair of hits and an RBI. Skyelar Horack contributed two hits, a run and knocked in a run.
Nolehi, which led by seven runs heading into the home half of the seventh inning, also received a hit and two RBIs from Kaitlyn Stock.
For the Indians, who dropped to 0-2, Eryn Mertz went 4-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs. Morgan Myers added a pair of hits and a couple of runs scored, while Mallory Valentine contributed two hits and a run.

Tamaqua-Northwestern
Emma Freeman pitched a four-hitter and struck out 12 to lead Northwestern to a 4-2 non-league victory over Tamaqua on Friday.
Freeman helped her own cause with a hit, two runs scored and an RBI.
The Tigers also received two hits, a run and an RBI from Emily Diehl, while Rylee McGinley contributed a double and knocked in a pair of runs.
For the Blue Raiders, Megan Linkhorst collected two hits and scored a run.

GIRLS LACROSSE
Perkiomen Vy.-Pleasant Vy.
Pleasant Valley used a big second half to pull away from Perkiomen Valley for a 15-4 victory in its season opener.
Rylee Rath scored five goals and added an assist for the Bears, who outscored their opponent by a 9-1 margin after halftime.
Devon Bush finished with four goals and two helpers, while Olivia Iandoli contributed three goals and three assists.
The winners (1-0) also received two goals from Emily Butler, and six saves from goalie Abygail Borger.
