Easter Musical

The Lewistown Valley Community Choir will present the Easter musical “One Day” arranged by Russell Mauldin at 3 p.m. March 24 at Calvary Evangelical UM Church, 824 Catawissa Road, Lewistown Valley. All are welcome. Food and fellowship will follow. For more information, call 570-617-2702.

St. Peter’s - West Penn

St. Peter’s Church of West Penn, located at 184 St Peters Road, Tamaqua, announced the following: Sunday: 9 a.m. Worship Service; 10:15 a.m. Sunday School and 10:30 a.m. Confirmation Class. Filling orders are due. A Belgian waffle and soup sale begins at 10:15 a.m., and the church board meets at 6 p.m.

Monday: 7:15 p.m. play rehearsal.

Tuesday: 7 p.m. WASP.

Wednesday: 7 p.m. Lenten service at Dinkey Memorial.

March 21: 6 p.m. Cherub Choir and 7 p.m. Senior Choir.

March 24: 9 a.m. Palm Sunday service and 10:15 a.m. Sunday School.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on March 12 with 37 members present.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting. The invocation was “An Irish Blessing.”

Mary Taylor and Nancy Schugart were added to the sick list. New member Donna Wetterau was welcomed.

Bingo was played. The group wished everyone a happy and healthy St. Patrick’s Day.

The group meets at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday at Christ Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church Lewistown Valley, 489 Valley Road, Tamaqua. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

The next episode of “The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kim will share a message of “The Nearness of God” at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical UM Church, Lewistown Valley, located at 824 Catawissa Road, Tamaqua. Special music will be presented. Wendell Heisler will lead the 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening praise and worship service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

The prayer service is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Lenten service is Wednesday beginning at 7:15 p.m. from Evangelical Congregational Church in Drehersville, and March 28 Maundy Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Drehersville. A Good Friday service will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 29 at New Ringgold United Methodist Church, and the Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 6:45 a.m. March 31 at Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, Valley Road.
