Trinity Happenings
Sunday Worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship is in Luther Hall afterward.

Sunday Church School classes for students age 3 through grade 6 and confirmation instruction classes for students grades 7 and 8 begin at 10:45 a.m.
The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

Wednesday in Lent soup suppers at 6 p.m., followed by Holden Evening Prayer worship at 7 p.m. through March 20.
Movie Night at 7 p.m. on March 16 in Luther Hall. The event is sponsored by the Youth Group. All are invited to watch “Night at The Museum.” Snacks will be available for purchase.
Holy Week worship schedule: Maundy 7 p.m. with Holy Communion. Fifth grade students will receive their first Holy Communion. Good Friday Tenebrae at 7 p.m.

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 222 North St., Lehighton, will host Sunday Morning Worship at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school will be held at 9:30 a.m. and Junior Church for ages 6-12. A season of Lent, 40 days of reflection and repentance will be held to prepare for Easter.

St. John’s
St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold worship service at 10:45 a.m.

A Spring Clothing Drive will be held in April and May. There will be a large box in the Narthex for items. Items should be specific for the Spring and Summer months. Donations will be given to the area homeless and in need.
St. John’s Cemetery Committee requests that all Christmas decorations be removed from the cemetery by March 22. Please be sure to put your cemetery decorations in the garbage container marked specifically for “Cemetery Decorations.”
Dinkey Memorial Church has a food cupboard available to those in need of supplemental food resources. It is available to members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s, and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room, located below the sanctuary. If you or anyone you know would benefit from receiving food from the Community Cupboard, please speak with Pastor Tony.
The annual rummage sale will take place April 12 and 13. Donations are still being accepted in the back of the nursery room. Volunteers will sort and price items on April 4 and 5. The sale will be a fill a bag for $3, excluding jewelry. Donations for the Carbon County Animal Shelter and Carbon County Friends of Animals will be accepted at the event. Ben Salem UCC
Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold an 8 a.m. worship service with a Praise Band; 10:15 a.m. traditional service; and Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. Communion service will be the first Sunday of each month.
