Police release report on woman killed on I-80 in Luzerne County

State police at the Hazleton barracks on Wednesday provided confirmation that a White Haven woman was under the influence of a controlled substance when she crashed her 2019 Toyota 4-Runner on Dec. 20 of last year and was killed.

Police said the crash that claimed the life of Jessica LaBarge, 43, happened on Interstate 80 East between mile markers 265 and 266 in Dennison Township, Luzerne County.

Police said LaBarge was ejected from the vehicle after it struck a guide rail on the right side of the road, traveled across both lanes and then struck a guide rail on the left side of the road.

Police said their investigation determined the woman was under the influence of drugs the time, however, they did not identify the controlled substance.
