State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following:

• A 32-year-old West Hazleton man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 18 in the 2700 block of Hudson Drive in Packer Township.

He was stopped while driving a 2010 Acura MDX.

• Two people sustained suspected minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash at 6:54 a.m. Feb. 16 on Interstate 81 in Hazle Township.

Police said Timothy M. Holt, 24, of Barnesville, and Marsha Fabian-Griffith, 48, of Mountville, were transported by personnel from the American Patient Transport System to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

They said the crash occurred when a 2010 Toyota Corolla operated by Holt northbound on the interstate went out of control and struck a guide rail on the right shoulder. The Corolla spun facing south and was struck by a 2019 Hyundai Kona driven northbound by Brian S. Griffith, 51, also of Mountville. Marsha Fabian-Griffith was a passenger in the Kona.

Police said a 2010 Kenilworth operated by Scott A. Horchner, 50, of Hagerstown, Maryland, “rear-ended” the Kona, which pushed the Corolla into the guide rail a second time.

Police said the Corolla and Kona sustained disabling damages and were towed from the scene.

Holt was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, police said.
