Mr. and Mrs. David Machay of Tamaqua are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on March 2, 1974, by the Rev. Bambrick in St. Jerome’s Church, Tamaqua.

Mrs. Machay is the former Mary Helen Rother, daughter of the late Rudy and Ethel Rother.

Mr. Machay is the son of the late Paul Machay and the late Anna Kuhn and stepfather Joseph Kuhn.

The couple have a son, Gordon Machay in Dillon, Colorado, and two grandchildren, Abigail and Ian Machay of Tamaqua.
