Breakfast served
The Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company will host a breakfast from 7:30-11:30 a.m. on March 3. This will be the last breakfast until November.
Block shoot
The Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club is holding its March block shoot and meat raffle Sunday at 11 a.m. at the clubhouse at 122 Gun Club Lane, Saylorsburg. it is 12-gauge shotgun only. The public is welcome.

Bucket success
St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effort, has a Bucket Fund outreach program.
In December, the church was able to donate $187 for PVEN and in January the result was $224 for the West End Pantry.
In March the recipient will be The Garden of Giving and in April, Meals on Wheels.
The Effort church continues to collect ShopRite and Weis receipts.
For “Souper” Bowl Sunday 86 cans of soup were collected for the PVEN.
The church generally offers Holy Communion to all on the First and Third Sunday of the month. However in March it will be the third and the fourth Sunday in light of Passion/Palm Sunday being on the 4th Sunday.
Potluck at church
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, has announced it will hold a Prayer & Fellowship Potluck after the second service on Sunday, followed by an hour of corporate prayer in the sanctuary.
Attendees are asked to utilize the link First Sunday Prayer & Fellowship to let the church know one is coming and what one would like to bring and share.
Auction ahead
The Effort UMC Outreach Auction is being planned. Items folks plan to donate will be accepted as of March 3 for listing and showing, with a suggested value. They will be on display outside the church office.
Handmade items, themed baskets, gift certificates, homemade dinners are “hot” ticket items according to church staff.
Sweet fundraiser
Laymen’s Fellowship at St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, is hosting a Krispy Kreme fundraiser from March 3-24.
Pick-up is from noon to 4 p.m., April 2.

Flower show trip
March 4 is the day for the Chestnuthill Township’s Park Commission’s trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show.

MC Habitat change
Scott Fabian, Affiliate Coordinator for Monroe County Habitat for Humanity, will serve as Acting Executive Director while a search is in progress for an Executive Director.

Pizza sale
McMichaels UMC is hosting a pizza sale. Orders are being accepted by M. Stout at 570-992-6742 by March 7.
The pizzas are all 12 inches and are reasonably priced.
They can be picked up at McMichaels UMC church by 11 a.m., March 16.
Monroe OES set
Monroe County OES, Chapter 99, will hold its first meeting of this year at 7 p.m., March 7, at the Rimrock Masonic Center ion Rimrock Drive, Stroudsburg.
Canned veggies
As the month ends, the Supplemental Food Resource Center at Effort UMC is requesting canned vegetables from its supporters. The SFRC will next be open from 10 a.m. to noon for those in need on March 9.
Ross Historical
The Ross Township Historical Society is hosting Thomas McCullough, Assistant Archivist at the Moravian Archives, Bethlehem, PA at 11 a.m., March 9.
McCullough will present “Family History 101,” offering methods to trace one’s family’s genealogy at the Ross Township Historical Museum which is located in the township’s annex at 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg.
Light refreshments will be served following the presentation. RSVP is not required.

OTO meetings anew
March 12 is the first 2024 meeting set for Operation: Touch of Home.
Group leadership hopes everyone will be present for this initial meeting of 2024.
Said meeting is to be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, at the American Legion Post 927 home in Gilbert.
Needed donations
Cornerstone Community Church is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m., March 13.

Summer outing
St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, has announced a June 18 bus trip to Sight & Sound Theatre to see Daniel.
