State police at Lehighton - incidents
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following:
• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident they were called to on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township.
Convergence Communications, Jim Thorpe, reported between Feb. 1 and 7 p.m. Feb. 12 unknown actors cut a lock that was being used to secure a rear door of a 2006 Haulette trailer.
• Police were called to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle incident at 5:59 p.m. Feb. 15.
A 55-year-old man from Lehighton told police he allowed a related suspect to borrow and utilize his 2007 Ford Taurus in August of last year and said the vehicle has yet to be returned to him.
• Police were called to the Dollar General Store, 6745 Interchange Road, Towamensing Township at 11:07 a.m. Feb. 9 to investigate a theft by deception case.
They said the store lost $2,190.48 through multiple transactions that constituted theft.
• A Kunkletown woman is the victim of a theft by deception case that police were asked to investigate at 12:10 a.m. Feb. 8 at 127 Upper 57 Road, Eldred Township.
• Police charged a 52-year-old Lehighton man for simple trespass after they were called to an incident at 11:20 p.m. Feb. 10 on Red Hill Road in Franklin Township.
A 69-year-old woman from Lehighton reported the man trespassing and refusing to leave the scene.
• Police said they were called to a theft of services incident at 9:14 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Dollar General Store, 6745 Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.
They said the store is the victim of the case that involved a dispute with payments associated with a contract in the amount of $139.80.
• A 62-year-old Saylorsburg man is the victim of a harassment by communications incident that happened between 8 a.m. and noon Feb. 13 at a property on Clark Circle, Ross Township.
He reported being harassed via social media messages by an unknown actor.
• Karen Koehler, 42, of Jim Thorpe, is the victim of a theft by disposition of funds case that police were called to at 92 Sunset Drive, Penn Forest Township.
Police said she told them she gave a contractor $20,000 on Aug. 3, 2022, and he never initiated the job.
• Police charged a 29-year-old Saylorsburg man with terroristic threats after they were called to a property on Buckwall Drive, Ross Township, at 11:54 p.m. Jan. 30.
A 30-year-old woman from Saylorsburg reported the man made threats of bodily injury or death to her while holding a knife.
• Two vehicles sustained minor damages in a snow-related crash that happened at 6:38 a.m. Feb. 13 on McIlhaney Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said it happened when a 2015 Ford Focus and a 2020 GMC Sierra were southbound. They said the Focus was stopped when the Sierra driver, traveling uphill, was unable to stop and the Sierra struck the Focus.
